I think the most part of important lessons are actually from nature and her wisdom reflects in every creature and how by instincts they just do what they need to do. A good way of protecting the environment and at the same time improve people quality life is to share the knowledge that has been lost this newest generations. For growing their own food and being self sustainable this will also contribute for healthier lifestyles and more connected people to what they eat. In our country would be a great option to take advantage of the volcanoes located around the central valley because we have enough even to sell energy to other countries and is considered a clean process
I think both are equally responsible for this pollution that is taking our species to a serious spot where actually governments should be providing the education to practice more sustainable and eco friendly techniques. A basic way of saving more water is to use rain water for the toilet instead of using absolutely clean water. The best way we can start making people realized how necessary is a change in our lifestyles if we want to keep this space longer is to educate little kids that can change all the problems we are currently living.

The best way is to use a reusable bag and there should be alternatives to pack stuff like hemp fiber instead of Styrofoam. The local government I believe they do what they can with the resources they get but we are definitely far from an ideal green model country.
