Food waste is a worldwide scandal these days because our planet is on its limit with pollution and the way human beings are exploiting their recourses..

Around the world when a country get richer its increases the amount of food that doesn't gets served to the table. There is urgency of action in this matter because obviously the food is not being equally distributed when in the U.S every day goes straight to the trash a ton of fresh food after another but for example in Haiti and El Salvador more than half of the people lives with bad nutrition.

The governments should create a plan to take advantage of all that food and give it to the people in social risk. Anyway there are private organizations in different communities doing it, just to celebrate food and promote this trend of a food waste free world.

the speaker got involved into this topic wasting food when he was raising pigs and create a system where in his own community he was able to feed his animals with free food that was going to the garbage factories and making consciousness of the bad use of food around Europe and the rest of the globe and learning also how different cultures treat the waste. He came to the conclusion that pigs for example are a great way for not wasting and actually generation more food. Solution that actually is prohibited in his country England situation the places Kim and the rest of people who are trying to save our world one bit at a time.

He talk shows us how the richest countries spend a lot of money producing things that finally are not eaten or even worse the cases were for size o shape standards, veggies and fruits don't even can be sell at shops, just for cosmetic reasons. It's necessary to awake people since we are literally burning the Earth with fossil fuel emissions to grow unnecessary food when he has reached their ecological limits.

The fact as that in other Asian countries they take this "not wasting" things really serious and how the food is treated with respect and certain sacredness which is missing in our occidental cultures.

Grammar:

English Verb Tenses

Do you know about the verb tenses? What's the difference between the present perfect and the past simple? Are you sure? How about the past perfect?

The perfect tenses include:

  • Present Perfect ("I have chosen")

  • Past Perfect ("I had chosen")

  • Future Perfect ("I will have chosen")

Think of them as the "complete tenses" as they describe a finished activity.

The perfect tenses are formed using the perfect aspect.

The perfect aspect is the combination of conjugated auxiliary verb "to have" and active verb's past participle. The verb to have detemines whether a sentence has a present (have/has seen), past (had seen) or future (will have seen) meaning.
